Established as a vertical integration to our Group’s food and consumable products division, Barrick Industries adds another dimension to the existing food product line-up through a full-fledged processing and packaging facility in India.

The company was initially immersed in processing and packaging RICH Indian Label Tea, and since then, we have gone from strength to strength. This was the beginning of convenience and value-added specialities, as we are now exploring facilities to process and package more value-driven consumer packs of tapioca, jaggery, eggs, pickles, salt and shredded coconut – including a variation of self-labelled and other-branded products. Moreover, we are continually developing products considering convenience, taste, consumer trends and value.

At the production facility, meticulous monitoring and frequent checks are carried out to ensure client specifications are met, while daily sensory evaluations are completed to verify the quality of all products in terms of packaging and presentation. We also implement a thorough production and process scheduling to ensure all the products can be tracked throughout the supply chain.

Besides widening the product range, the processing and packaging facility also enables Barrick Group to gain leverage and consistently meet the growing food and consumable demands through a lean logistical network.

The strategy has paid off fruitfully, as Barrick Industries is now to set to expand across East Africa and Saudi Arabia.
